Vanderbilt Construction aims to fill gap in upmarket residential market

Devmark Property Group, which has successfully established its name as an industry leader over the past 27 years, has joined forces with the Swieg Group of Companies to establish Vanderbilt Construction, which has already completed construction to the value of R130 million.

Says Hein Ehlers, founder and Group CEO of the Devmark Property Group and director of Vanderbilt:

“Vanderbilt Construction was founded on the principle of creating quality upmarket residential properties without compromise, and is establishing itself as the leader in this field. By bringing together Devmark and Swieg’s considerable combined experience in the industry, Vanderbilt is perfectly positioned to excel in this niche market. With the right balance of experience, we like to pride ourselves on innovation, performance and trust.”

With construction projects such as Fairhaven in Somerset West, Heerenzicht Estate in Durbanville and Amali Estate in Eversdal under their belt, the company will also now offer The Oaks at Pearl Valley and Val de Vie Estates. Says Jan-Hendrik Swiegers, director of Vanderbilt Construction and also founder of the Swieg Group of Companies:

“We recently started construction of The Oaks, a plot and plan development in conjunction with Val de Vie, the top award-winning residential estate in Africa. A retirement village is soon to be launched on the estate, which Vanderbilt will also be constructing. Our forecast for Vanderbilt Construction is in the region of R1 billion in the next three to five years.”

Vanderbilt Construction’s expertise are not limited to the Western Cape, one of their first projects was Caversham in Rosebank, Johannesburg. The project consisted of thirteen luxury aparments.

Swiegers adds that the Swieg Group provides a number of services rooted in extensive experience of various sectors of the property development industry, offering a complete range of property development services for the high-end, residential sector. Residential property development is the group’s primary focus area, with recent developments including the Eversdal Close Estate and the Petit Provence Estate in Durbanville.

Ehlers concludes:

“We’re an exceptional combination of expertise, energy and experience in Vanderbilt Construction. Together we’ll set the industry standard in the construction of luxury residential houses and developments.”
