POSITION : OPERATIONS MANAGER (RENEWABLE ENERGY SECTOR)

COMPANY : POWER DEMAND SOLUTIONS

REPORTS TO : DIRECTOR

MAIN PURPOSE:

OPERATIONS MANAGER (RENEWABLE ENERGY SECTOR)

Strong background in Business Development Management, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex Green Energy projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including helioscope design, capex, financial modelling and project presentation.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure all requirements and expectations are met.
• Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure timely completion.

Team Leadership and Management:
• Lead and manage a team of construction professionals, including project managers, supervisors, subcontractors and funders.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to team members to ensure high performance and job professional project delivery.
• Conduct regular plant performance evaluations and address any issues or concerns promptly.

 Budgeting and Cost Control:
• Compiling quotations to be sent to clients.
• Liaise with the accounts department regarding the payment of invoice.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to minimize project expenses.
• Monitor project costs throughout the installation process and take corrective action as needed.

 

Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Ensure that all installations meet quality standards and regulatory requirements, I.T.O. SANS.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Ensure compliance with SANS codes and other legal requirements.
• Ensure contractors/installers are certified and hold the necessary qualifications and registrations needed to comply with Department of Labour, funders, banks and insurance requirements.
• Knowledge on SSEG processes with different municipalities.

Client Relations & Sales Process:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the Installation & after- sale service process.
• Communicate project updates, milestones, and any issues or concerns to clients in a timely and professional manner.
• Address client feedback and concerns promptly to ensure client satisfaction.
• Oversee client communication and handle escalated client issues and queries.

Qualifications:
• Experience in renewable energy project management.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to ensure quality control.
• Understanding of regulations and compliance in the renewable energy industry
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
