Construction Of Long Awaited Retirement Estate Underway

The construction of the Langebaan Manor retirement estate is finally underway.

Devmark Property Group’s new retirement estate, Langebaan Manor, held its open day on Saturday 20 August. Property sales consultant Walter Hart said it is a milestone for the development finally to start with construction after several unforeseen setbacks that were out of their hands, such as the Covid19 pandemic delayed the estate’s progress.

Excited homeowners who have already bought property on the estate as well as prospective buyers visited the site office on Saturday. The Mayor of Saldanha Bay, Andre Truter, also dropped in to congratulate the team on the major headway that is being made on the construction site. Truter visited KwaZuluNatal recently and mentioned the many retirement estates in the Howick area. He said these private estates and not necessarily government are the reason Umngeni Municipality is one of the most economically stable and growing municipal areas in the province, while many other municipal areas are deteriorating because of poor governance.

He believes more retirement estates in the Saldanha Bay Municipality can only benefit the local economy and residents, especially because there are not many retirement villages, oldage homes and frailcare facilities for the elderly in the municipal area.

Hart says 65 of the 100 houses at Langebaan Manor have already been sold. Part of the Devmark Property Group’s Retirement Collection, Langebaan Manor is its ninth retirement village in 30 years. The group also has hugely successful retirement villages, such as Cle du Cap, Legato, La Vie Est Belle, Heritage Manor, Onrus Manor, Villa Cortona, Helderberg Manor and The Plettenberg Manor. Andre Truter, the Mayor of Saldanha Bay, visited the Langebaan Manor site office on Saturday.
